The NC500 is Scotland’s answer to Route 66—a breathtaking road trip that showcases the stunning Highlands and coastal areas of northern Scotland. I, Rip, the Dutch Herder, am excited to share my perspective on this adventure.
Our journey begins in Perth, where my human mom and I pick up our campervan rental, which will be our home for the next seven days. As we leave Perth on a late autumn afternoon, the vibrant autumn colours dazzle us at every turn. Each corner reveals a new vista, more beautiful than the last. A few hours later, we stop for the night at Loch An Eilein in Rothiemurchus, a place we've visited before and one of the most beautiful spots in the world. Now, how can I convince my mom to let me take a swim?
Early morning walks around the loch are spectacular. The sun's warm rays dance across the water, while mist gently rises over the hills surrounding the loch. My human mom loves it here, snapping countless photos and trying to get me to stay still long enough for a few images. But the inviting water calls to me, and I can't resist.
After breakfast, we prepare the van for the next leg of our journey to Inverness and the Black Isle. There’s so much to see and do, and searching for Nessie is high on my list. I’m sure she won’t eat me as I swim out to find her!
